The UPS Foundation Grants Vital Support to GDA

Guide Dogs of America is proud to announce receipt of a $40,000 grant from The UPS Foundation. The grant will be used for general operating support of our program that provides blind and visually impaired individuals with professionally trained guide dogs, and instruction in their use, free of charge.

The UPS Foundation drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS. Established in 1951 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues. In 2014, UPS and its employees, active and retired, invested more than $104.2 million in charitable giving around the world. Learn more at

In 2015, thanks to The UPS Foundation, and our other supporting foundations, clubs, groups, businesses, and generous individual donors, Guide Dogs of America graduated 45 guide dog teams, as our guide dog recipients and their guide dogs are known. The cost to put each guide dog team into service is more than $42,000. Thanks to GDA’s supporters we are able to provide our guide dogs and services free of charge.
