GDA’s Lorri Bernson Receives Access Award

Guide Dogs of America is proud to announce that GDA Media Relations and Community Liaison Lorri Bernson has received the “Spirit of Accessibility” award from Access Services. Access provides complimentary transportation in Los Angeles for persons with disabilities who cannot ride the accessible public fixed route buses and trains.

Lorri Benson wearing a seat beltLorri, who is a two-time Guide Dogs of America graduate, and also a member of GDA’s board of directors has been honored by Access for her significant contributions towards making transit more accessible.

Access produced a great video that features Lorri and her guide dog Carter and explains how Lorri has worked with Access to improve transportation services for persons with disabilities. Watch it at GDA’s Vimeo channel.
