Q: Does the school get financial assistance from the government?
A: We receive no government (Local, State, or Federal) money. We rely solely upon voluntary contributions from individuals, corporations, organizations, foundations, and other groups.

Q: What is the cost of providing a guide dog?
A: The cost to put one guide dog team – as our guide dog recipients and their guide dogs are known – into service is $42,000. That cost include the breeding, raising, and training of the dog, instruction for the guide dog user, and instruction for the guide dog team.

Q: Can I designate where I want my gift to go?
A: Yes! Although general donations allow Guide Dogs of America to put the funds where they are most needed, we allow donors to choose where their funds go upon request. If you wish to make a designated gift, simply let us know in the comment box at the time of making the donation to what area of the program you would like your gift to go. Contact Guide Dogs of America Office Manager Kristine Wallace at (818) 833-6439 or KDWallace@guidedogsofamerica.org to find out more about designating your gift, options and areas for gift designation, and other related details. Another great way of designating where a gift will go is by giving through our Sponsorship Program.

Q: How can I donate in memory of someone?
A: It has become a tradition for many GDA supporters to make gifts In Memory or In Honor of loved ones, beloved pets, and special occasions. They find that helping provide a guide dog that gives companionship and a better life to a blind man or woman perfectly fits the warm, loving feelings they wish to express in congratulating, celebrating, honoring or comforting the special individuals in their lives.

Q: Can I set up a recurring donation?
A: Yes! With your monthly donation you can help us reach our goal of supplying the gift of mobility to at least 50 people each year. This method of payment will ensure reliable, consistent income for our organization while at the same time being cost effective as everything will be handled electronically. By giving monthly, you are giving mobility to those who need it. Click on the donate button below. It will take you to our secure online donation form where you will be given the opportunity to choose “recurring donation.” Your account will be debited the amount you specify on the first business day of each month.

A: Eighty-three percent of all our funds raised during the fiscal year is available for Program Services, 9% for Administrative Costs, and 8% for Fundraising (figures based on the 2014-2015 fiscal year).

Q: Can I get a copy of your Financial Statement?
