Ahmad is a Real Estate Broker from Irvine, CA who was matched with his first guide dog “Julep”, a yellow female Labrador Retriever.
As his vision declined due to Retinitis Pigmentosa, he had been struggling with a cane, and did not like relying on other people.
“When I learned about guide dogs in 2008, I knew that was the answer as to how I would be independent. I was tired of bumping into things with my cane,” shares Ahmad. “The way that GDA teaches the students step-by-step is wonderful – like building blocks. GDA has exceeded any expectation I had of a guide dog school. They really care. You don’t feel like a number.”
