$38,000 UTC DONATION!

HARTFORD, Conn., June 3, 2005. United Technologies Corp. has donated $38,000 to the Guide Dogs of America, a nonprofit organization that helps blind individuals become more independent. The donation will cover the cost of a guide dog and a 28-day training program for one visually impaired individual to learn how to use his or her new guide dog companion before taking it home. "Guide dogs are a lifeline because they allow the visually impaired to live active and productive lifestyles," said Tutch Shirane, vice president, human resources and communications at Hamilton Sundstrand, who presented the check today on behalf of UTC. "This donation continues UTC's support for the Guide Dogs of America."

Hamilton Sundstrand and the International Association of Machinists Local 743 have sponsored an annual golf tournament for the past six years that benefits the Guide Dogs of America. The event has raised $123,000 so far, and is heralded as one of the most lucrative fund-raisers in the nation for the Guide Dogs of America.

United Technologies Corp. (NYSE; UTX), based in Hartford, Connecticut, is a diversified company that provides a broad range of high technology products and support services to the building systems and aerospace industries. Fortune Magazine has ranked UTC as a 'Most Admired' company every year since 2001 based on criteria including social responsibility, innovation and financial performance. UTC donates about $16 million annually to support organizations and programs focused on human services, math and science education, arts and culture, and the environment.
