Today we are saddened by the news that we have lost a dear friend of GDA. Longtime graduate Ken Metz passed away yesterday. Ken was an ambassador for our school and involved in so many different ways. He would speak often to groups of people who were interested not only in our program but of his life as an active blind individual.
Ken served in a variety of capacities on the California Council for the Blind over the years. Proactively fighting for the rights of the blind community, and of guide dog users alike. He was a mentor to many. His sense of humor and gentle kindness will be missed greatly on our campus. We are holding his wife Pam in our hearts in these trying times. His mark on GDA will be everlasting, we were truly blessed to have called you a friend.
