There Are Many Ways to Help Guide Dogs of America
Below are some more ways you can help. Click the individual links for more information.
Shop in our Gift Store
It’s the best of both worlds! You can shop on-line for official Guide Dogs of America merchandise.
Use the GoodSearch browser
Goodsearch is a simple way to make a difference — each time you search the web, they’ll make a donation to GDA.
Shop Amazon Smile
AmazonSmile is the same as Amazon.com, but .5% of purchases on eligible items will be donated to Guide Dogs of America. Choose GDA as your charity of choice by selecting International Guiding Eyes, Inc. (our legal name).
Make a Difference Right NOW: Give Online Today
Make a gift now and make a difference. You can now make a gift directly to Guide Dogs of America online using a credit card. With our secure server you can be sure your information is kept private and safe.
Wills, Bequests & Trusts
Make your gift last a lifetime and beyond. Charitable organizations are not subject to gift or estate taxes so your gift continues to support the causes close to your heart, like Guide Dogs of America, without being diminished by the IRS.
Donate Stocks or Securities
By giving stock, you will receive a tax deduction for your donation based upon the average price of the security on the date you give the gift. This avoids you having to sell the security and pay taxes on the gain. A great way to give a gift and minimize your taxes.
Gifts In Honor & Memory
Make a donation in honor or in memory of a special person, pet or occasion. These donations show how much you care about your special someone or pet, as well as the important work we do here at GDA. We’ll send a card to the person you specify showing your thoughtfulness.
Sponsorship is a wonderful way to help. You can sponsor a puppy, a guide dog, a guide dog recipient, or a team (guide dog and the guide dog recipient).
Does your employer match your gift? If so, you can easily double your gift to help support Guide Dogs of America. Just ask your employer and contact Guide Dogs of America if you need any assistance.
Many employees are able to take advantage of convenient, automatic payroll deductions to support their favorite charities through the United Way, employee giving programs/clubs, the CFC and the SECC. Ask your employer what payroll deduction programs are available to you. If Guide Dogs of America is not listed, ask if you can write us in on the form.
Help support our special guide dog program by donating your United Airline Plus miles to Guide Dogs of America. We cover travel expenses, such as airline tickets for our guide dog recipients who do not live near the school. For more information contact Rhonda Bissell at GDA, (818) 833-6432, and she will be happy to assist you.
Our volunteers generously donate their time in many ways. Some volunteer opportunities include doing mailings and general office work, helping at special events and booths, and providing public education as a tour guide or speaker. Puppy Raising is another way to volunteer.
Raise a Puppy
Our volunteer Puppy Raisers are vital to the success of our program. Consider opening your home and heart to a puppy in training to provide the growing puppy with basic obedience, nurturing, and lots of love! (Central and Southern CA and parts of WA Only)
Charitable Pet Sitters
Many dog sitters donate a percentage of their Rover earnings to nonprofit organizations, including GDA. When you book, look for the Rover Donation Badge on the sitter’s profile.
A mobile way to give mobility
You can donate directly to Guide Dogs of America from your smart phone! Text the word “Mobility” to 41444 and you can select the amount that you would like to give. Go mobile, go GDA!
Donate a used car!
CARSTM has now partnered with Guide Dogs of America. They specialize in car donations and your tax-deductible donation through CARSTM will help raise money for GDA.
Commemorative bricks are a beautiful way to honor your loved ones while supporting GDA’s mission to provide guide dogs and instruction in their use, free of charge.
