Reports to: Director of Finance

Job Purpose:  Responsible for all financial applications. Formulate and direct financial policies and strategies to maximize return on financial assets by following and continuing to improve financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Accounting—
  • Maintains accounts payable system, AvidXchange, uploading and assigning invoice workflow in Avid and account designation, and monitoring approvals –8%
  • Prepares daily summary of contributions and entry to general ledger – 7%
  • Prepares daily bank account and other various reconciliations – 8%
  • Maintains employee credit card processing, including reconciliation and reporting in QuickBooks – 7%
  • Work in Heartland to reconcile and record credit card income –6%
  • Maintains state charity registrations –7%
  • Assists with month end close including bank reconciliations and other month end reconciliations – 8%
  • Assists with financial reporting and statements – 7%
  • Assists with annual audit – 9%
  • Setup payment for manual checks – 4%
  • Salesforce – Manage regular input and reconciliation of receipts, payroll contributions, donations, third party giving, sponsorships, working with Volunteer Coordinator for processing of thank you notifications—12%
  • HR Functions—Assist Director of Human Resources as needed with New Hire processing and onboarding, workers compensation processing and paperwork, protected leave paperwork, and DMV and background checks—5%
  • Payroll Function—Audit Paylocity for payroll punches, input holiday time, prepare bi-weekly spreadsheet for payroll processing, make employee payroll corrections, track time off usage, assist with running of bi-weekly payroll, including benefits reporting and payments—7%
  • Assists at occasional events on weekends or evenings, indoors or outdoors – 5%
  • Other duties as assigned or necessary

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods at a computer
  • Visual acuity required to read forms, documentation and computer screen
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate elevated noise level – barking dogs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in field of Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in Accounting role for non-profit organizations required
  • Proficient with Quickbooks and high level experience with Excel required. Salesforce and AvidXchange or other payables software desired
  • 18+ years of age
  • Position will include driving — Valid driver’s license and insurability required
  • Position may include travel—Valid travel IDs or ability to obtain required
  • Work well as part of a team and in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
