If so, what did you do and for whom?Please tell us why you want to volunteer with our organization.Please tell us what you hope to gain from your experience with us.Guide Dogs of America has volunteer opportunities in the following areasAdministration - examples include: Mailings, copying, clerical, merchandise inventory, greeting guests on graduation day, tour guides, outreach tables, computer/IT, photography/videography, event support Event Planning - examples include: Assist staff in gathering vendor information, phone calls, keeping registration list updated on computer, creating signs, making goodie bags Event setup and tear-down – examples include: Physically fit people to assist with setup and tear-down at events such as graduation, GDA’s Open House, and fundraisers. ** Kennels - examples include: Work alongside staff and assist with the daily tasks of keeping the kennels clean and dogs enriched and fed. On campus activities include community play groups, individual walks on campus, individual off leash play time, grooming/brushing, and quiet cuddle time! Marketing - examples include: Assist staff in promoting the school via flyers, brochures, assist with reports, solicit information (requires computer/Photoshop work) ** POOCH Program Furlough Volunteer (open ONLY to prison employees) - examples include: fostering a service dog in training for a week or weekend from one of our prison training programs.
